RE: Youth WorkSource Center Operators Proposal

Dear Mr. Chavez:

On behalf of the Southland Partnership Corporation, please accept this as a statement of intent to collaborate with the Los Angeles Youth Opportunity Movement-Boyle Heights (LAYOMBH).  Our agency fully supports the LAYOMBH proposal in application as the Youth WorkSource Center Operators. LAYOMBH has assisted more than 10,000 youth in the pursuit of their educational, personal, and career goals in hopes of building self-sufficiency.

While many agencies stray away from assisting difficult populations, LAYOMBH has taken on the challenge of reconnecting out-of-school youth to positive resources.  The Southland Partnership Corporation operates the POWER Collaborative Network, a cluster of human resource providers & community outreach socioeconomic development specialists, which for some time has been a committed partner with LAYOMBH in providing on-site training and tutoring, and is excited to maintain this collaboration to assist the youth in preparing them for a successful future.

As the youth struggle to obtain the most basic education, today’s global economy demands a competitive, qualified and high-skilled workforce.  Education has become a prerequisite to success in today’s labor market.  In view of that, we look forward to the success of this program and are confident that together with the LAYOMBH and our other collaborative partners, we are in the best position to keep on providing the type of education, training, and supportive services needed by the youth to live productive and thriving lives.

Sincerely,

Dean L. Jones, CPM
